Boston, MA

Boston is one of the oldest, wealthiest and culturally richest cities of the United States. The city got particularly famous due to the Boston Tea Party, which lead to the war of independence and finally to the separation of 13 British colonies in North America from Britain in 1776. The declaration of independence was proclaimed solemnly by John Addams from the balcony of the Old State House. Today the Freedom Trail, a red pavement lane, leads in about four kilometers to 16 significant historic sites of this era, including the Boston Common, Massachusetts State House and the Old State House. Beside historical sites Boston offers hundreds of attractions, diverse shops, museums, restaurants, live entertainment, sporting events and world-renowned institutions such as the Symphony Hall or the Harvard University in Cambridge. Moreover you will find beautiful landscapes within the immediate surrounding of the city such as Cape Cod (approx. 85 km) and the island of Martha's Vineyard (approx. 130 km).
